Room One's Letter of the Week is... Ff

Each week we focus on a letter to learn, read and write about.  We do this through phonics, singing, reading stories, handwriting, alphabet activities, letter writing, playdough, Language Experience, make and do and lots of other things.  

This week we are learning about the letter Ff.  We will learn its name, its sound, how to write and recognise it and about some things that begin with this letter.    

The teachers love planning exciting learning experiences to help us learn our letters. 

At the moment we LOVE alphabet songs so Miss Collins has posted a couple about the letter Ff 

that we might like.

STRIKE

Today we had Strike visit Linwood North at St Chad's.  They were amazing! We loved hearing the different percussion instruments.  Some of us found it a little bit loud but we loved the beats. Mrs Geal and Mr Betts did a great job on the stage playing against each other but Mr Betts won.  At the beginning they put some songs on and LNS sung along to them without prompting and we sounded great!  The performers were impressed with our singing!  Some students got to help the performers by playing the Cook Island log drums and they did a great job.  At the end they use fire and methylated spirits to perform a percussion act.  It was very cool!

Term 2 Songs

The Term Two songs that the Kakano Team is going to to learn are up at the top of the page on a new page.  I know lots of the children enjoyed learning last terms songs and watching the video clips.
