Being A Learner: The 2016 New Entrants Visit Room One

This week we have had our 2016 New Entrants visiting Room One with Mrs Moore, Miss Collins and Mrs Tizzard.  It has been lovely meeting the new students and their whānau.  These students are coming from lots of different preschools and kindergartens so it is lovely for them to spend some time together and get to know each other.  We have learnt the letter Ss this week and we made snakes and read about sunflowers, then we planted our own sunflower seed to take home and grow.
These students will all start school on the first day of 2016.
Welcome to Linwood North School!

Being Respectful: Welcome to the new people in Room One!

This week we have had five new pupils start in Room One with Miss Collins and Mrs Tizzard.  We warmly welcome these new tamariki and their whānau to Linwood North School.  The other Room One pupils have been respectful and responsible with helping them settle in and get used to life at school.

Niu and Avonside Early Learning Centres Visit the Kakano Team

Over the last few weeks we have had Niu Early Learning Centre and Avonside Early Childhood Centre visit the Kakano Team at Discovery Time.
It has been lovely getting to know some of the pupils who will join us later
in the year or next year.
We are looking forward to catching up with them again at our
School Production later in the term.

Welcome to Judah and his Family!

Today Judah and his family came to visit Room One and meet Miss Collins.
It was lovely to meet Judah and his family and they enjoyed having a look around the Kakano Block.  Judah is the first person in his family to come to Linwood North School and his family are excited about joining our School Community!

Miss Collins explained that she was new to Linwood North School too and Judah
thought that was pretty cool that everyone in Room One will be new.

We are both looking forward to meeting the other new people who are going to be in
Room One this year!
