This week we have focused on writing poetry as part of our writing
programme and School Wide Literacy Week.
The Teachers and students have enjoyed exploring how to write different
poems. It was lovely to see students
sharing their poetry at the Kakano Poetry Slam last Friday.
We concluded our school week with a combined
Literacy Week and Inquiry celebration.
The whole school made kites, which had pictures of our family on
them. As a school we went and flew our
kites with our buddies. It was an
absolute to see the huge smiles on our learner’s faces as they flew their
kites. I could see the children focusing
and thinking about their kite and taking risks to see how they could get their
kite higher in the air.
